Environment and Natural Resources (ENR) is hosting a workshop on community source water protection on February 8th and 9th in Inuvik, NT. The main goal of this workshop is to improve community capacity with respect to the creation of community source water protection plans. Space has been allotted in this workshop for two individuals from each community from the Sahtu, Gwich'in and Inuvialuit regions as well as one individual from other agencies such as Water and Land Use Planning Boards and regional GNWT staff from various departments. There is some financial assistance available for travel expenses.
If you think your community could benefit from a source water protection plan, if there are potential sources of contamination in your community, if your water supply is at risk you may want to find out more about this workshop.
