Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medals

In celebration of the Qeeen's Dimond Jubilee, the Government of Canada has created a commemorative medal that will be given to 60,000 Canadians, recognizing their outstanding contributions.  The federal government is inviting NWT municipalities to award a Queen's Diamond Jubilee Medal to a citizen who has made an exceptional contribution to his or her community.  All of Canada's 3,734 local government have been invited to nominate a medal recipient and one alternate, through the Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM).

To be eligible to receive a Queen's Diamond Jubilee Medal, a person:

  • Must have been alive on February 6, 2012, the 60th anniversary of Her Majesty's accession to the Throne.  The medal can be awarded posthumously, as long as the recipient was alive on that date.

Click here for the nomination form which must be completed, saved and emailed to the FCM.  For more information, please visit the Diamond Jubilee website.
