Businesses & purchases outside NWT are eligible under EEIP

The NWT Department of Environment and Natural Resources (ENR) made a number of changes to the Energy Efficiency Incentive Program (EEIP) last September.  Highlights of the revisions that took  effect as of Sept. 1, 2009 (but not retroactive before that date) include:

  • A new rebate is available for qualifying EEIP items purchased outside of the NWT but within Canada. Eligible items receive 50 per cent of the NWT rebate amounts.
  • Businesses are now eligible for EEIP rebates.
  • Low flush toilets now qualify for a $75 rebate.
  • All EnergyStar washers now qualify for EEIP rebates.
