The Environmental Damages Fund (EDF) is a specified purpose account administered by Environment Canada. The Environmental Damages Fund Program ensures oversight and accountability of monies directed into the Fund as compensation for harm caused to the environment or wildlife.
Environmental funding for your community project
The TD Friends of the Environment Foundation has been able to help Canadians protect our country's natural beauty by providing environment funding for not-for-profit organizations (including municipalities) across Canada.
Funding is available for local band councils and Aboriginal governments who wish to augment community pride by hosting festivals, commemorative events, or events that encourage arts and heritage in the community.

Recent increases in energy prices have made alternative energy systems more economic in the Northwest Territories (NWT). Concerns about climate change and the need to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from the use of fossil fuels when producing heat or electricity provide a further reason to develop the use of alternative energy sources.
The Department of Health and Social Services and Health Canada provide funding to support NWT community wellness programs. These programs work to improve the well-being of NWT children, families and communities. The following funding programs are in place.
