Situated on the south shores of Great Slave Lake, Hay River “The Hub of the North” is located on the Mackenzie Highway, just an hour north of the 60th parallel. The community stretches along the banks of the Hay River offering many great vantage points along the way. Whether its sun drenched sandy beaches, fishing for our world famous lake trout, or a round of golf on the most spectacular course in the Northwest Territories, your adventures await.  

Our Recreation and Community Services Department is currently accepting applications for the position of:

                                   1 - Full Time, Permanent Sr. Lifeguard/Instructor  

$44,588 per annum + Housing Allowance, $5400

Comprehensive Benefits Package

Reporting to the Aquatic Supervisor, responsibilities will include lifeguarding facility programs, swim instruction, and performing general facility maintenance. Hours of operation include shifts on evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays.

Your experience and certifications will include:

-        Minimum two years experience as a Lifeguard/Instructor

-        National Lifeguarding Service Award

-        Lifesaving Instructor / Swim for Life Instructor

-        CPR/First Aid/AED
