The Incorporated Hamlet of Sachs Harbour has a Term Full-Time position for a Senior Administrative Officer TRAINEE. This term position will end on March 31, 2012. This position requires a committed person, willing to learn and develop skills working in the community to take over the position of Senior Administrative Officer, following the training period.
Reporting to the Interim Senior Administrative Officer Trainer (ISAOT), the successful candidate will learn to direct, administer and coordinate all affairs of the Incorporated Hamlet of Sachs Harbour. The incumbent will also learn to be responsible for all aspects of municipal administration, including management of human resources, operations and projects in accordance with Council Bylaws and Policies.
REQUIREMENTS
Excellent leadership, problem solving, interpersonal and communications skills are required, as well as well as the ability to deal with the community, staff and other agencies in a fair and diplomatic way. Working knowledge of ACCPAC will be a definite asset, but not required. The incumbent must be bondable and must provide a clean criminal records check with their application. A Class 5 drivers licence will be needed for this position – higher class of licence would be an asset to this position.
QUALIFICATIONS
This training program will provide the incumbent with the knowledge, skills and abilities that are generally acquired through a degree in municipal, public administration or management plus a minimum of 3 years of related community experience or 5 years relevant municipal management experience. The incumbent will be expected to take training courses to become certified as a Senior Administration Officer, in addition to their hands on training in the community.
The Starting Salary will be $30.00 per hour, with a settlement allowance of $5.02 per hour, and other applicable benefits.
