The Hamlet of Paulatuk, NT is seeking an energetic and enthusiastic individual for a position in the field of accounting in the Hamlet’s Finance Department.      

The successful candidate will need to be able to:

  • input monthly financial transactions into Simply Accounting
  • complete monthly bank reconciliation’s
  • maintain an accurate payroll system, including bi-weekly payroll, deductions and biweekly Revenue Canadaremittance
  • develop and maintain a back-up filing system for all accounting records
  • produce monthly financial reports for the Hamlet Council on behalf of the Senior Administrative Officer with an emphasis on expenditure and budget variances as well as other duties as stated on the Finance Officer’s Job Description

Qualifications:

  • a minimum of two years post secondary education in the field of accounting, business management or commerce or equivalent        
  • proficient in Simply Accounting
  • self-motivated and able to work productively with little or no supervision
  • possesses a proficient level of computer skills
  • 1 to 2 years of work experience in accounting or within a business environment community.

Remuneration:

$45,000 plus $23, 260 Northern Allowance. The Hamlet of Paulatuk has a Benefits Package which will be provided upon request.
