The Hamlet of Fort McPherson is accepting applications for the position of Chief Administrative Officer.
This beautiful community is located on the world famous Dempster Highway and is nestled at the foothills of the Richardson Mountains. Fort McPherson has a population ofapproximately 900 with more than 80 percent of Gwich'in descent. The economy of the community is primarily based on local businesses such as the local retail outlets, the Fort McPherson Tent & Canvas factory, a local trucking company, government services, and other private enterprises. The Peel River is another important feature of community life.
The Chief Administrative Officer reports directly to the Mayor and Council and is responsible for man-aging human resources, financial affairs, and administrative functions. The Chief Administrative Officer should have five (5) years of management experience preferably in a government setting, a university degree in public administration, political science or business administration. They must also be able to work in across cultural environment. Equivalencies will be considered.

The salary will commensurate with experience. The Hamlet offers a comprehensive benefits package including annual Northern Allowance of $10,236, subsidized housing and relocation allowance.

During a successful meeting in Norman Wells with over 100 participants and a packed agenda, the NWTAC announced changes to its leadership.
In the weeks leading up to Emergency Preparedness Week, NWT residents should work to ensure they are prepared for emergencies. In the NWT, this time of year preparedness is particularly important.
